52 De Wet
Boutique luxury with breathtaking ocean views
52 De Wet
Located on the cliffs above the wild atlantic, 52 De Wet is nestled between the bustling tourist meccas of Camps Bay and its bigger sister, the V&A Waterfront. The boutique hotel has some of the best ocean views in the Cape and luxurious and spacious guest rooms. Personalised and welcoming service makes you feel at home and the infinity pool and quiet environment adds to the appeal. We recommend renting a car or using a taxi service to get from A to B.
At the lodge
The hotel has a split level, open plan lounge and restaurant that leads onto a large terrace. Diners can enjoy their gourmet meals from high-backed velvet chairs overlooking the incredible view. Outside you’ll find the sparkling infinity swimming pool, sun loungers and shade-bearing white parasols. You can spend lazy afternoons here overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and enjoy a sunset right in front of you.The atmosphere is clean, minimalistic and modern with a touch of African inspiration.
Almost every room has a sea-view, bar one. Make sure you’ve booked the other one. If you can manage it there’s a self catering pad down 60 steps down where you can enjoy some seclusion from the main hotel environment. Rooms are luxurious and tastefully decorated, with a terrace overlooking the sea. Each room is different but they all have plush carpets, 100% Egyptian cotton linen, free wifi, Nespresso machines, en-suite bathrooms, fluffy gowns and towels and a fully stocked mini-bar. Also bathroom are stocked with Ecoco natural bath products - we liked that.
The on-site Langaro Spa offers various massages and facials. We found their manicures and pedicures to be very well-priced. You can order a massage in the therapy room or in your own room. Couples massages are available too. Every evening at 52 De Wet is a celebration with free sundowners. Don’t miss the opportunity to salute to your holiday and the end of another day in Africa over a fine glass of locally produced wine. If you’re not exploring one of Cape Town’s fine restaurants for dinner, Russell, the michelin-trained chef will prepare the most beautiful food from fresh line fish to tender fillets of South African beef. You won’t regret staying in! For any activities in and around Cape Town, Marnie is in the know. She will even make restaurant bookings and order taxis for you.
