Ant's Nest

Exclusive, owner-run bush lodge with exciting activities for everyone

Ant's Nest

Ant's Nest Lodge is situated on a private game reserve in the malaria-free Waterberg region. The owners renovated an old ranch house to create Ant’s Nest using local stone and thatch that blend into the surroundings. It is an excellent bush getaway for couples, honeymooners and families alike. The lodge can be booked on an exclusive basis. Ant’s Nest not only enjoys lovely views of the valley but is also surrounded by open plains where rhino and other game graze frequently at close range. The team at Ant’s Nest is exceptionally hospitable and will make your stay memorable.

At the lodge

The hotel

The original homestead, with its wide verandahs, lies in a natural amphitheater and has a classic, relaxed, African atmosphere. A wide variety of game frequents the waterhole in front of the bush home. Classic furniture made from local fabrics, timber and stone brings a stylish warmth to the lodge. There is a 15 meter swimming pool surrounded by extensive lawns in the garden, as well as a wonderful thatched area with sofa beds where guests can relax.

The rooms

Ant's Nest has six en-suite bedrooms with verandahs and can accommodate up to 12 guests. The Sable Suite is a spacious luxury suite, consisting of a master bedroom, a twin room, and a sitting room. The Weaver Suite is the largest double room and has a king-size four-poster bed as well as a large four-poster daybed. The Rondavel is a charming double room, built in traditional African style. The Davidson rooms are two comfortable bedrooms located in the original homestead.
