Madikwe Safari Lodge

UNTAMED AND UNTAINTED WILDERNESS

Madikwe Safari Lodge is one of our family’s latest adventures, and because it is still a new relationship, we keep falling in love with this landscape and this Lodge with every visit. We enjoy every moment of nurturing this place and sharing in the excitement of exploring this new gem of the African bush when out on safari. The vast landscape here is filled with dramatic difference, and boasts vistas of “thornveld”, nestled at the foot of a “koppie” (small mountain).

Our staff know exactly how to make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. If you curl up on your couch at home, that is what we encourage you to do with us at Madikwe.

Our three lodges, Lelapa, Dithaba and Kopano comprise of 20 suites in total, and give guests a choice to stay together as a group of family and friends, or to have a more quiet bush experience as a couple. At Madikwe Safari Lodge you can ease into an experience which is a good fit for you, and feel remarkably at home and relaxed in this untainted piece of wilderness in the Kalahari.

Wildlife

Madikwe Game Reserve lies on a transition zone with a mix of Kalahari thornveld, denser bushveld and open savannah areas providing the perfect habitat for an abundance of species including the famed Big Five, with both black and white rhino present. The not-to-be-missed wildlife specials for this region include brown hyena, sable antelope and gemsbok. However, the real highlight for Madikwe is its resident pack of wild dogs, providing exciting moments on the hunt.
