Mosaic delights with its friendly warmth, sumptuous cuisine and one of the best sunsets along the Garden Route.
At the lodge
Boardwalks under a canopy of trees lead to the lapa where meals are shared outdoors or in front of a grand fireplace. Surrounded by stone and thatch with huge glass windows overlooking the spectacular lagoon, the lapa oozes a warm and rustic elegance. A heated plunge pool provides the perfect place to spot lagoon birdlife, and the deck is ideal for savouring a fine South African wine while the sky bursts into colours as the sun sets down the mountains.
Five thatched stone and glass safari-style suites hug the edge of the Hermanus lagoon. Inspired by surrounding nature, each suite opens onto a private deck with a view over the mountains reflected in the crystal clear water. En-suite bathrooms boast a romantic tub bath and a private outdoor shower for an authentic African bush experience. Large glass doors fold away so you can relax on your luxurious king-sized bed with nothing between you and the magnificent view.
Mosaic offers a myriad of activities to enjoy the spectacular surrounding marine and bird life. Boat cruises and kayaking are the perfect way to explore the lagoon and a quad bike safari through the fynbos reserve is a favourite among guests. Take a guided beach walk along the secluded Walker Bay Beach and during whale season from June to September, you can sit on the sand dunes and watch Southern Right whales frolic as close as 20 metres from shore.
