Onsea House

Overnighting in relaxing colonial style

Onsea House

This house is located to the southeast of Arusha National Park, some seven kilometres from the town of Arusha. A large, exclusive property, Onsea House has an especially warm, welcoming atmosphere as the owners are also your hosts, ensuring quality services and exceptional cuisine. Beyond the grounds, many hidden gems wait to be explored and examined, including birding, hiking, cultural activities and more.

The hotel

Communal areas are scattered throughout the property. There is an indoor and outdoor dining area with views of the surrounding suburbs, numerous lounge areas, two open-sided bandas, a lovely pool and a lawn bar. A combination of African and European style gives Onsea House a comfortable home-away-from-home feel.

The rooms

Onsea House has four guest rooms – two in the main house that open on to a shared terrace and two in a cottage in the garden, each with a private wooden balcony. All the rooms are similar in style, simply but elegantly furnished with four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms with both a bath and shower.

Experiences

Onsea House is a great base from which to enjoy a wide variety of activities, although most do come at an extra cost. A visit to Arusha National Park is a real treat, with one-day safaris further afield also available. Explore the traditional cultural and community projects nearby; buy holiday reminders at lesser-known retail hotspots recommended by your hosts; enjoy local sporting facilities to get a bit of a workout; or simply chill on a pool recliner, cocktail in hand.
