Sindabezi Island Lodge

A bush hideaway in the Zambezi

Sindabezi Island Lodge

If you’re hankering after the bush then idyllic Sindabezi might just be the place for you. Set on a secluded private island in the middle of the Zambezi, this is the only bush camp in the Victoria Falls region and a luxurious and really rather romantic option. The 5 tasteful chalets are open to the gentle sounds of the river and views of the pristine wilderness take centre-stage. And if you can drag yourself away from this tranquil haven, the jaw-dropping Falls are only a short boat ride away, just waiting to be explored…

At the lodge

The hotel

It’s up to you where to relax at Sindabezi – sink into one of the sofas at the main boma with a good book or head to the lounge, raised on stilts and tucked into the treetops, for sensational views over the river and its inhabitants. In the evening, follow the lanterns to the roaring fire and a romantic dinner on the river’s edge accompanied by the serene glow of the moon.

The rooms

The 5 chalets are stylish, romantic and perfectly private. Soothing cream linens and quirky natural accessories add a touch of bush elegance and all have large canopied beds looking out to raised wooden verandas and the mighty Zambezi below. Bathrooms are open air with solar-powered (and very hot) showers and ‘loos with a view.’ The two honeymoon suites also feature bottomless bathtubs big enough for two.

Experiences

After your batteries are fully recharged, make the most of the plethora of activities on offer from Sindabezi. Set your heart racing with a white-water rafting trip down the Zambezi or take to the sky in a helicopter for a birds-eye view of the Falls in all their glory. On the water, clink classes over the setting sun on a boat trip or canoe down the quieter channels. Still missing the bush? Try a game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.
