The Clarendon Bantry Bay
The ultimate room with a view
The Clarendon Bantry Bay
Perched majestically atop the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, and out of sight of the city crowds, the Clarendon Bantry Bay is a cool fusion of ultimate boutique luxury and local flair. Privacy and exclusivity are the name of the game and with views like this, you can’t fail to be seduced into a chilled-out Cape Town state of mind. And with absolutely every detail taken care of by the friendly team, all that’s left to do is lie back, pull up a sun lounger and gaze at the vast cerulean ocean stretching as far as the eye can see….

The hotel
There’s nothing ostentatious or flashy about the Clarendon (despite it’s definitely flashy location!) and that’s why we love it. Views take centre stage from every corner - the breakfast deck at the top, the dining room or the sparkling pool in the gardens – and the mood is calm, uncluttered and totally peaceful. The staff are fabulous and nothing is ever too much trouble. A chilled Chenin to your room or a hand drawn map of the best restaurant in town? No problem.
The rooms
There’s a variety of different rooms at the Clarendon so choose carefully! At the top is the bright and breezy penthouse, complete with lounge, dining area and outdoor terrace. Superior rooms and suites are spacious and flooded with light and have the all important ocean views whereas some of the standard rooms, as pretty as they are, only have garden views from the terraces. But whichever you choose, you’ll be guaranteed clean-cut modern simplicity, fluffy pillows and pristine bathrooms.

Experiences
With the city centre and Table Mountain only a 10 minute drive and the V&A a mere 20 minutes away, the hotel is in an excellent location for a thorough exploration of Cape Town. There’s lots of restaurants close-by too – try ultra-trendy Camps Bay for cocktails and sushi or town for relaxed bistro fare. But really, the Clarendon is made for relaxation so don’t miss out on an afternoon by the swimming pool with the waves swishing below – and it’s totally wind-free.
