The Palms Zanzibar

The Palms is a family-owned resort and with just 6 gorgeous villas, offering intimate luxury on the stunning East Coast of Zanzibar. Each villa has a private outdoor plunge pool and looks out across the beach to the beckoning Indian Ocean. The resort is excellently positioned for kite surfing and the Water Club on the beach is there to enable guests to try out a variety of water sports.

The hotel

The bar and lounge area are elegant and relaxing, built under a tall thatched roof with views over the ocean. There is a huge communal pool on the beach with plenty of sun loungers and shade canopies.

The rooms

The Palms has just 6 thatched villas, built in between the palm trees on the white sand, the rooms are elegantly furnished with Zanzibari style and careful attention to detail. There is air conditioning, a TV, music and DVD player as well as a mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. Each villa is wonderfully spacious with two bedrooms and a lovely terrace with ocean views and a plunge pool.

During your stay at The Palms you will be able to use all the facilities of the neighbouring, sister hotel, Breezes, which have a fantastic water sport and marine activity centre. The Sanctuary Spa is The Palms stunning beachside retreat offering a huge range of treatments and therapies. Cultural excursions and trips to swim with Dolphins can also be organised as well as a bike ride along the gloriously long beaches at low tide, which is a personal favourite.

Wildlife


In the gin-clear ocean around Zanzibar, marvel at bright corals with over 450 species of tropical fish, octopus, stingrays, moray eels, green turtles, hawksbill turtles, dolphins, humpback whales, and if you are very lucky: whales sharks and manta rays. In the coastal forests, spot the colobus and Sykes monkeys, bush babies, more than 50 species of butterfly, as well as brilliant bird species.
