Tintswalo Safari Lodge
Feel like you're the only people in the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve when you spend a few nights at Tintswalo Safari Lodge. Intimate and limited to only a handful of guests, the lodge is tucked under an ancient sycamore tree grove, fringed by a waterhole. Being open to the Greater Kruger National Park, incredible wildlife often wander through the camp to drink and play while guests look on, G&T in hand. Devoid of Big Five-chasing crowds, the lodge is also perfect for spotting an array of incredible bird species.
At the lodge
With only seven rooms in total, the restaurant is always peaceful and offers an intimacy not found at larger lodges. Meet the chef and have the staff remember your dietary requirements for the duration of your stay. The small, but specialised library will give you something to read by the fireplace in the cosy lounge while the wine cellar offers an extensive choice of excellent beverages.
All six luxurious suites, as well as the excellent presidential suite, are connected to the main lodge by raised wooden walkways, but this doesn't mean you'll compromise your privacy. The suites are larger than most each has a private plunge pool in which to relax during the balmy afternoons. Hang from the pool's rim during balmy afternoons and wait for the animals to come and cool off at the waterhole. Bathrooms are equipped with an indoor and outdoor shower.
Mornings typically start with an early wakeup call and game drive. Take a break and enjoy breakfast in the bush before spotting more animals on the way back. Late afternoons are spent in a similar fashion, but pastries and coffee is replaced with G&T and beers. Each seat in the safari vehicle has a canvas bag with snacks, mosquito repellent and binoculars. Blankets and ponchos keep you cosy. For an alternative, enjoy a game walk with an expert guide.
