Friends, family and fantastic wildlife encounters
Surrounded by the open grassy plains of the Mara, scattered acacia thickets and tumbling blue waterways, Topi House is all about location. Its exact spot is actually a piece of private land, sandwiched between the Olare Orok Conservancy and the Mara Reserve, for the best of both game-viewing worlds. The house has 3 bedrooms, a full complement of staff and a variety of excellent, and child-friendly, activities. So what are you waiting for? Fill it to the brim with friends and family, forget about waking the neighbours (there are none!) and enjoy the safari of a lifetime.
At the lodge
A large, open-plan sitting and dining room is at the heart of the farmhouse, and dark wood tables and chairs are complemented perfectly by huge squashy sofas and the roar of the log fire. The staff at Topi are warm and friendly and the chef will discuss your preferred meal times and locations each morning – we highly recommend a shady spot on the rolling lawns for lunch and dinner on the veranda as the stars twinkle prettily overhead.
There are 3 ensuite bedrooms at Topi, all linked by the large, open veranda along the front of the house. All feel fresh and light with white-washed walls and exposed beams, and the high ceilings allow a welcome breeze to drift through on sultry afternoons. Romantically draped mozzie nets and soft rugs and cushions add a touch of old-school safari charm and the bathrooms are spacious and practical with hot water on tap.
A safari at Topi is 100% on your terms and your private guide will help you to design your own itinerary. Options include game drives in the Mara and surrounding conservancies and walking and night drives (with a little advance notice). The launchpad for balloon safaris is only a short drive away, as are several Masai villages if you would like to arrange a visit. There’s an also an excellent children’s program on offer for the younger ones.
