We’re talking dazzling landscapes ranging from the tallest peak<\/a> in North Africa to whimsical, windswept dunes and sandy coastlines; ancient kasbahs; delectable street food; desert excursions and star-gazing adventures. And yes, we can’t forget those medinas, which happen to be some of the oldest and most captivating in the world…<\/p>\n

\u201cWe kicked off our trip at the Riad Fes<\/a>. Located in the heart of Fez’s<\/a> medina, the views from the rooftop terrace are incredible \u2013 and even though you\u2019re in the middle of the action, the location is fantastic and very easy to find. Our favourite thing? The breakfast spread!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Morocco<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe left Fez to enjoy a night in the Agafay Desert<\/a>, which was a peaceful respite from the buzz of the city and a totally different side of Morocco<\/a>. Activities include camel rides and dune buggy rides, and Inara Camp<\/a> (our glamorous desert home) was a magical setting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNext up was Kasbah Tamadot<\/a> in the Atlas Mountains<\/a>. The hotel is absolutely immaculate, with a team that is willing and wanting to help at every corner. The tented rooms offer a classic, safari feel with beautiful amenities and gorgeous views from the deck. Each meal was better than the next and there were so many dining options for all different types of cuisines and cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of our favourite experiences of the whole trip was hiking in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains<\/a> and stopping at a local riad for lunch. The views along the way are stunning and the guides will take you on a beginner-style or advanced hike of your choosing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnto Marrakesh<\/a> and we instantly fell in love with the El Fenn Hotel<\/a>. It’s a glamorous little oasis and inside, the rooms and main areas are quirky, unique and very, very cool. The rooftop terrace is also incredible: there are different areas for lounging, sipping cocktails, yoga and cooling off in a plunge pool. It’s the cherry on top of an all-round fabulous hotel, and if it’s good enough for Madonna…”<\/p>\n

“Our highlight of Marrakesh<\/a> was exploring the medina on our own. We started with a guided morning tour to see the highlights (definitely recommended) but exploring on our own time was great and we felt very adventurous… even if we did get lost a few times! P.S. The cooking class at La Maison Arabe is super fun and the meal afterwards was delish.”<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a completely different take on Marrakesh we visited the stunning – and very peaceful – Jardin Majorelle<\/a>. The rare and exotic flowers and bright splashes of colour all speak to the many artistic hands who helped to craft it, including the legendary Yves Saint Laurent, and it’s a great way to spend an afternoon.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ended our trip with some beach time in Oualidia<\/a>, and La Sultana<\/a> was a treat. Everything is fantastic, from the gardens and infinity pool with fabulous poolside service, to the rooms with their rooftop decks and the restaurant serving fresh seafood caught that day. Perfection!\u201d<\/p>\n

“Everyone says it but I saw for myself that Morocco<\/a> really is a country where you can do it all. In just one trip, you’ll travel from the mountains to the desert to the coast (the sun is shining for most of the year), and still have time to get lost in the bustling cities and medinas. Everyone you meet is friendly and warm, and one of the best ways of getting to know the country is immersing yourself in the food – it’s delicious and such a big part of the culture.”<\/p>\n
