About Janeiro Hotel

An eco-conscious boutique hotel with stacks of style right on Leblon Beach.
Designed by Oskar Metsavaht of luxe Brazilian brand, Osken, the Janeiro Hotel is all about blending sustainability and style. Everything, from the all-natural toiletries to the handcrafted furnishings sourced from local artisans, embody Metsavaht's ASAP (As Sustainable As Possible) ethos. Style-wise, the vision is fresh and minimalist with acres of white textiles and honeyed freijo woods, whilst vast windows let in streams of Brazilian sunshine and incredible views of Leblon Beach, Christ the Redeemer and the majestic Two Brothers mountain. And then there's the near-perfect location on the Avenida Delfim Moreira - ideal for a wander, whether you fancy frequenting art galleries or Michelin-starred eateries.

Property details

The property

Enter any room at the Janeiro and you'll be met with Osklen's signature scent and a warm smile from the outstanding team. In the restaurant, a simple yet refined space surrounded by black and white photography of Rio scenes, you'll find a variety of ocean-to-table dishes, accompanied by sublime views of the Atlantic. Up a Modernist floating staircase, you'll find the Little Pool Bar, an intimate space to cool off and take in the views over a caipirinha. Alternatively, head for the Cedilha Bar for hearty cuisine and cocktails.

The rooms

18 stories high (with five rooms per floor), the Janeiro was designed to show off the spectacular ocean, island and mountain vistas surrounding it. With muted tones, nature-focused photography and hanging wicker chairs, you'll feel cushioned and comfortable. All serviced by a butler, room options range from the extra-spacious, two-bathroom Janeiro Suite to the deluxe rooms with their partial sea views. The bathrooms are super slick with monsoon showers and wide mirrors. Every detail has been specifically chosen, down to the bite-sized Brazilian sweets left on your pillow.

Activities

You'll be perfectly-positioned for exploring the 'Marvelous City' of Rio, from morning cycles along the beachfront, to train rides to stand beneath Christ the Redeemer. Walk up the iconic Selarón Steps, check out the city's fabulous museums, or wander through the Botanical Garden. Of course, the hotel is right on Leblon Beach, where plenty of private sun loungers await. Or, for a spot of pampering, head for the Janeiro Hotel's mini spa or laze beside the plunge pool, something chilled in hand.
