What to do in The South Coast

Sri Lanka's South Coast is a treasure trove of blissful beaches where you can spend your days lazing on the sand or take the more active tack with an array of offerings including surfing, snorkelling and diving, waterskiing, kayaking and sailing trips. If you're visiting in the right season, you could even join the efforts for sea turtle conservation. Head a little inland and you'll discover hidden trails to ancient temples, beautiful lakes and lowland tea farms to visit. Galle Fort is the place to be if you're a history buff and cycling through the town is a wonderful way to see it all.
