The only decision to be made at Kasaka is which seating area to choose for your siesta! Pick a bucket chair in the raised main area for wonderful views across the river, delve into the library and brush up on your wildlife knowledge or get up close and personal with the creatures of the river in a director’s chair on the viewing deck. The only qualm is that you might have to share them with naughty monkeys…
The 8 tents are comfortable and cool and all have en suite bathrooms to the rear. Relax on the ‘tame’ side of camp, where 4 tents sit amid neatly manicured gardens or venture to the ‘wild’ side where the remaining 4 nestle amongst thick vegetation, linked by walkways over the gorges. The Wild Mango suite is a spacious and elegant with a huge 4-poster bed and the Hippo Pod house with private butler and chef is the perfect escape for families.
Kasaka is located just a kilometre or two from the western end of the unfenced national park and game drives in the area produce excellent sightings. We also recommend getting into the heart of the park on all-day picnic drive for maximum game-viewing excitement. For a different perspective, leisurely canoe and boat safaris can be arranged as can community visits for an insight into the rich cultural heritage of the area.
