Despite being able to accommodate rather a lot of guests in three restaurants and four bars, the main areas at Sea Cliff still manage to feel private and relaxed. All are open-sided, with high, thatch roofing, traditional Arabic lanterns and cool stone floors. There are plenty of comfortable leather sofas to relax in, and white-tableclothed dining tables are dotted inside and out. Head to Mangapwani for local dishes with an international twist, or Kobe for a light lunch by the pool. Fabulous swimming pools look out over the ocean, and there's a terraced, man-made beach just below too; both have plenty of sun loungers.
In total, the hotel has 120 rooms. 24 Garden rooms are spread throughout the well-manicured grounds, and are suitable for families with their inter-leading rooms. The 80 Superior rooms all have fabulous ocean views, whilst the 16 Deluxe rooms have double balconies, free standing baths and Jacuzzi showers (so worth it!). Decor is neutral and fresh, and you have a choice of twin or double beds in each. Outside, there's traditional Zanzibari wicker chairs to recline in, and soak up the views.
There are no shortage of activities at Sea Cliff! Two large infinity swimming pools, as well as a children’s pool, allows for plenty of water time, and there's an onsite water centre that organises SUP boarding, kite surfing, wake boarding, diving, dhow cruises and horse riding. The hotel also has tennis, volleyball and squash courts, a well-equipped gym, golf course, and of course, the spa. You can also head back down towards Stone Town (a half-hour drive) to wander the markets, stopping off for a spice tour or a hike in the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park on the way.
