The monsoon is over and Thailand re-emerges in full technicolour glory. It’s a beautiful month to visit and just about everywhere, from Chiang Mai’s mountain temples to Bangkok’s vibey streets, is buzzing. Alternatively, escape from it all in the Andaman Islands (or indeed the islands on the Andaman coastline) and relax on the golden shores in the sunshine. It's also Loy Krathong season, where candlelit boats float down rivers in a nationwide celebration of light and water.
November is a golden shoulder month in Costa Rica and both the Pacific Coast (drying out) and the Caribbean Coast (still bright and breezy) are ripe for visiting - although there may still be a little rain around. Waterfalls are full, the forests are vibrant, and the wildlife is waking up. It's also an amazing month for turtle hatching along the Nicoya Peninsula.
November quietly opens the door to the Maldives' best season. The monsoon has passed, skies are clearing, and visibility for diving and snorkelling improves dramatically. With fewer guests than in peak months, it's a luxurious, peaceful time to enjoy overwater villas, warm lagoons, and starlit dinners in the sand. Bliss, before December prices roll in.
