The exterior of 2 Inn 1 may be classically Victorian, but inside is anything but. There’s a small lounge with funky animal prints, stripy wallpaper and a library of good books and local magazines with a host of hot tips. At the back is an enticingly blue swimming pool and a pretty courtyard and terrace – the perfect spot for a pre-exploration, sunny breakfast (this is the only meal served here but with so many trendy eateries nearby, it’s definitely not a problem).
All rooms score top marks for comfort and their simple, stylish design; think neutral walls with vibrant artwork and crisp linens with bright, Afro-chic cushions. Very funky. Each also has air con and underfloor heating – very welcome in the appropriate months! Bathrooms are clean, white and fresh with full quotient of modern appliances and outside-wise, the luxury rooms have a small balcony for sunset G&Ts whilst the standard come with mini-terraces. There’s also an apartment suite with its own kitchen if you fancy a bit more freedom.
Make the most of your city location and get stuck into the uber-trendy bars, cafes, galleries, shops and restaurants in Cape Town’s awesome central area – Kloof Street (a mere minute’s walk), Bree Street and Church Street are some of the best. Head out a bit further to Chapman’s Peak Drive (cameras at the ready) and Noordhoek for a bite to eat before continuing south to beautiful Cape Point and back via Simonstown and those sun-loving penguins.
