The entire resort has an open-air concept to make the most of the fresh ocean breeze and those views. At 360 Rooftop, tuck into breakfast as the waves crash below, then return for a dinner of Balinese crispy duck or succulent seafood paired with one of the cellar wines. Right at the cliff's edge, the Botol Biru Bar & Grill serves dishes from the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean, alongside cocktails and dreamy sunsets. Inspired by a traditional Balinese lumbung (stilted rice barn), the spa offers locally-inspired treatments to sooth any travel aches.
The 73 spacious suites, villas and penthouses boast the best views on the Bukit Peninsula and are beautifully-decorated with a contemporary Balinese flair, bold artwork and plenty of polished wood. The amenities range between different room types; some have direct pool access while others have their own private pool or hot tub; some boast a dining sala and others have a private garden. The bathrooms are slick with gleaming wood and slate-coloured tiling, and a bathtub with a serious view.
There's a smorgasbord of activities and day trips to enjoy whilst at the Anantara. Take advantage of the complimentary shuttle to nearby Uluwatu Temple; it sits at 70 metres above the ocean and is famous for the traditional Kecak dance performances. Then again, you might prefer to take a Balinese dance or tai chi lesson, or opt for a cooking class to learn about regional dishes and local ingredients. There are also water sports galore, as well as spectacular diving.
Striking just the right balance of deliciously raw beauty and a vibrant atmosphere.
