The hotel provides cool and welcoming comfort after a busy day of exploring and there are plenty of spots to put your feet up and relax with a cup of tea 0 or something stronger. Overlooking the pool you'll find the Elephant Blanc restaurant which serves an outstanding and heady blend of Indo-Chinese, French and Laotian dishes; the famous ten-course 'Feast of the Prince' is absolutely not to be missed. The small spa also offers an excellent selection of treatments, perfect for the travel weary.
There are 24 rooms in total and several options to choose from, split between The Garden Wing (the most affordable option) and the La Residence Wing (part of the original mansion, and offering rooms with much more space). The interiors are classic but charming and always welcoming, and the wooden shutters and Laotian artworks are lovely touches.
Angsana Maison Souvannaphoum can arrange all manner of excursions, including trips to local waterfalls and caves, cycling tours, visits to rice farms, cookery classes and a chance to witness the morning almsgiving in the city. The location, just outside the UNESCO-zone of the city, also lends itself perfectly to an exploration on foot, taking in the beautiful temples and colonial architecture, and the array of excellent restaurants and eateries.
Graceful sights and picturesque surrounds make this chocolate-box town an enduring delight.
