Baobab Ridge is classic and rustic, with plenty of natural woods and beautiful African art and decor including beautiful shell and brightly-coloured beaded on the walls. An expansive pool deck overlooks the waterhole, adorned with plump loungers and cardinal-red couches to relax on with a glass of South Africa's finest grapes. The lodge prides itself on serving home-cooked meals prepared with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients including hearty breakfasts on the deck and three-course dinners in the pretty firelit boma.
There are seven free-standing cottages, all on raised timber decks, with lofty ceilings and filled with plenty of natural light. The decor is natural and muted with pops of colour from sunset orange to velvety blue. The suites are open-plan with a lovely lounge, king-sized bed and bathroom with a tub big enough for two, twin vanities and a shower that opens to the outdoors. No detail is too small including a minibar stocked with your favourite drinks. Out front, there is a spacious veranda and seating area.
You'll explore the dazzling landscape of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve on game drives, helmed by Baobab Ridge's expert guides. Off-roading allows for unique, up-close encounters, and night drives reveal all sorts of nocturnal creatures including leopard, porcupine and a variety of owls. The lodge also offers guided bush walks, where you'll have the chance to examine the smallest details of the landscape at a slower pace, and perhaps even spot game at eye-level. The birding is also spectacular, especially during the spring and summer months.
A spectacular wilderness area where intimate animal encounters are par for the course.
