Serengeti Under Canvas is a luxurious semi-permanent tented camp that moves around the Serengeti, following the herds as they stampede across the grasslands in search of new grazing. This annual movement of more than two million wildebeest and other herbivores – and the predators that shadow them – across the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. When you've had your fill of animals for the day, return to this sophisticated camp, with its luxury accommodation (with chandeliers, fluffy duvets and your own butler) to relax and be wined and dined in style. Heavenly!

Central to the nine tents is a communal lounge and well-stocked bar tent and a separate dining tent in which to relax with a drink and eat to your hearts's content (meals are also served under the stars). The food is good and tasty, the service levels are very high. Breakfasts are especially popular, whether taken in the dining tent or in the bush.
The camp consists of nine luxury tents that are reputed to be Tanzania's largest safari tents. Each is certainly spacious, with a warm and inviting double bed, comfy seating, lovely Indian rugs, en-suite bathroom, separate toilet and outside bucket shower. Each tent has its own butler, who escorts you safely to and from your accommodation, provides room service and prepares the hot water for your shower. Power is available.
Game drives that follow the Great Migration – that cliched sighting of wildebeest crossing the Mara River is far, far more thrilling than you could imagine. However, when the bulk of the animals have moved on from this area there is still plenty of resident game to see. The birdlife is spectacular too. Vultures, vultures everywhere! In the evenings, there's nothing like settling back with a long G&T to reminisce about the day's sightings and marvel at the vividly setting sun.
