While comfort is promised, the camp intends to focus above all else on authentic, memorable camping experiences and pared down accommodation and facilities. Buildings are constructed entirely from recycled or natural materials - think roofs built from old oil drums, canvas walls, and recycled wood and metal interiors. The main camp hosts a central lounge and dining area, perfect for striking up conversations and swapping travel advice with fellow campers - and gazing at the incredible views.
In keeping with the rest of the camp, the eight canvas Meru tents blend almost entirely into the environment. The tents may be basic, but inside, you'll find everything you need - and nothing you don't! Two serve as family units, and the other six can be made up as double or twins. Each have an open-air, en-suite bathroom, with a flush toilet and bucket shower.
Camp Sossus is all about delving into the heart of Namibia's fascinating Sossusvlei area. First up, embark on nature walks and guided drives through the desert, spotting the unique, desert-adapted wildlife as you go and visiting the desert pools. Also on the menu are multi-day walking trails with nights spent camping under the stars (or just one night if you fancy), hot air balloon flights over the dunes, helicopter jaunts and fixed-wing scenic flights further afield.
