Cape Weligama

The first thing the sea spray touches is the 60m infinity pool, which seems to flow straight into the ocean. Enjoy the catch of the day at the Ocean Terrace, decorated in polished wooden columns and your go-to breakfast spot is the Kumbuk Cafe with plenty of Sri Lankan staples and cups of frothy yaara tea. You can also nibble on the resort's degustation menu at Lookout Blue, enjoy afternoon tea at the rose-coloured Cape Club and sip on handcrafted cocktails (with a game of pool) at the Surf Bar. Knitted into the natural slopes at Weligama, the resort has 39 villas and suites topped with terracotta roofs. Built in the style of a traditional village, the villas come two or three to a garden with a roomy terrace and shared pool, and the suites are clustered around the Cove Pool. In earthy tones or shades of blue with simple decor, the villas have a king-size bed, spacious lounge and lovely a bathroom with a deep, oval tub. Some villas also come with a private pool, steam room or bar; other amenities include specialty Dilmah teas, Espresso machines and a pillow menu.
