The charming and unpretentious Casa Andina Premium is all about homely comfort and epic views. The minimalist décor conveys all the attention to the lake with the waterfront patios and cacti-filled gardens beckoning guests to lay back and take it all in. The Alma restaurant offers plentiful breakfasts of local and international delicacies, while lunch and dinner are exquisite combinations of local ingredients and traditional cooking with a modern twist. For those craving a refreshing Pisco sour (with a view), the well-stocked bar awaits...
There are 45 rooms spread over two floors of the main building (there's no lift available, however). All have carpeted floors, dark wooden cupboards and white-washed walls, a desk and a balcony, as well as decent size bathrooms with big bathtubs and step-in showers. Superior rooms, some with views of the lake, offer two full-size or a queen size bed, while all superior King rooms include an enormous bed and amazing views of the lake from private balconies.
It will come as no surprise that the bulk of activities on offer in Puno revolve around Lake Titicaca. Keep in mind that although the hotel itself doesn’t do excursions, they’ll happily advise and help you organise trips. Visit the floating Uros islands, seek out the native lake fauna, or head to one of the bigger islands like Amantaní or Taquile for full-day explorations. Back on land, try out the local cuisine, visit crafts markets, explore Sillustani archaeological site or just relax at the hotel - massages are available but must be pre-booked.
