While the rest of the Amalfi Coast leans into terracotta, bougainvillea and old-world romance, Casa Angelina does something refreshingly different. Sitting on the cliffs of Praiano, the hotel's white-on-white minimalism feels more gallery than grand palazzo... And that's totally the point. Clean lines, contemporary art and a pared-back palette let the real star of the show take centre stage: the staggering Tyrrhenian Sea views that stretch from Positano to Capri. Add a Michelin-starred rooftop restaurant, a holistic spa and the hotel's own private boats, and you've got one of the most distinctive stays on this magnificent coastline.

The all-white interiors of Casa Angelina could easily feel clinical, but the contemporary sculptures, Venetian glass and original paintings give each space a real warmth and genuine character. Dining-wise, Seascape, the casual all-day restaurant, serves honest Neapolitan favourites from the open kitchen — the spaghetti with courgette is always a winner — while the cocktail bar on the cliff-edge is perfect for Aperol Spritzes at golden hour. There are three pools (including a heated indoor hydrotherapy pool), a spa offering Augustinus Bader treatments, and terraced gardens dotted with lemon trees, hydrangeas and yoga mats in the morning.
Fifteen shades of white apparently went into the design and the effect is a sort of serene blankness that makes the views from your terrace feel even more vivid. Most rooms have private balconies looking out to sea, though a handful face the hotel's citrus orchards instead (still lovely, just different). The suites, designed by Italian furniture maker Paola Lenti, are the real showstoppers with spacious terraces and Philippe Starck bathrooms. Throughout, you'll find crisp Etro cotton sheets, iPads, Nespresso machines and L'Occitane toiletries.
Charter the hotel's boat, Lady Angelina, for a private skipper-led tour of the coastline — it's easily the best way to discover hidden coves and swimming spots without the crowds. Back ashore, join the chef for a tour of the organic garden, or take the complimentary shuttle to Positano for an afternoon of boutique-hopping. The concierge can also arrange vintage Fiat driving tours along the hairpin coastal roads, day trips to Ravello and Pompeii, or simply point you in the direction of Praiano's wonderfully unpretentious local trattorias.
The rooftop restaurant, Un Piano Nel Cielo. Translating as 'a floor in the sky', it's reached by a panoramic lift and serves Campanian tasting menus by candlelight with that coast stretching out below.
Book the 'Chef on Board' experience. It's a sunset Neapolitan dinner prepared on the hotel's private boat as it cruises the coastline and it's utterly unforgettable.
The beach is reached via a glass elevator followed by around 200 steps, so it's not the most leisurely stroll. The hotel is also seasonal and only welcomes guests aged 12 and over.

A heady blend of cerulean waters & old-world glamour on the world’s most theatrical coastline.
