The interiors of Casa del Arzobispado are a finely-curated reflection of Cartagena's history and full of original artwork, religious relics and gorgeous, traditional fabrics. The dining room serves a range of hearty, Colombian dishes including a feast of choices for breakfast, and the popular Epoca Cafe is excellent for lighter bites. Outside, there's a central patio with a pool surrounded by potted palms and the spa offers a good range treatments including a Turkish bath.
The Casa del Arzobispado has 11 charming rooms. They all have a traditional aesthetic with polished wooden furnishings, including a large bed draped in starched linens and a natural colour palette. Beneath exposed beam ceilings, you'll find a mounted TV, ceiling fan (and aircon) and a minibar, as well as a small sitting area. The bathrooms are spacious and well-appointed. Shuttered doors lead onto the wide patio and courtyard.
Located in the centre of Cartagena, there's plenty to discover right on your doorstep. Set out to explore the cobblestone streets, stopping to admire elegant cathedrals and bustling plazas. You can also pay a visit to one of the city's museums including the Museo de la Inquisicion. For fantastic views over the city and bay, head up the hill to the Convento de la Popa, or explore the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas – it's one of the most well-preserved forts in Latin America.
