About Casa Legado - Bogotá Hotel

Utterly charming and full of personality, Casa Legado is a hidden gem in Bogotá.
Surrounded by the colourful, lively streets of Bogotá, the Casa Legado is hidden away in a world of its own – but one that's no less colourful. Completely re-imagined by owner, Helena Davila, it's a mid-century house with a beautiful courtyard garden draped in climbing ivy. There are plenty of living areas decorated in thick, vivid rugs and eye-catching knick knacks, and you'll find a crackling fireplace too. Every moment at the Casa Legado feels like spending time in a friend's beautiful home, from the well-stocked, always-open kitchen to the rooms, which are individually designed and named after members of Helena's family.

Property details

The property

After a warm welcome from the resident pooch, Eugenio, settle into the casa's communal spaces, which walk the line between curated and whimsical. The rooms are filled with natural furnishings by emerging Colombian designers, alongside antiques from Helena's grandmother. In the morning, buffet breakfasts of fresh fruit, porridge, homemade coconut yoghurt, freshly-baked bread and rich Colombian coffee are enjoyed around a large wooden table. Many of the ingredients are grown in Casa Legado's own garden.

The rooms

Each named after a member of Helena's family, the rooms are distinctive and every detail has been chosen with care. They range from the genteel Natalia room, which has a curtained bath tub just steps from the bed, to the vibrant Lucho, adorned with eclectic artwork, a private balcony, and a bright blue hammock to recline in. Things like herbal bath salts, hot water bottles tucked beneath the sheets and hand-written notes with local recommendations are the cherry on top.

Activities

Borrow one of Casa Legado's bicycles or head out to explore Bogotá on foot. Just a block from the hotel, you'll find all sorts of cafes, bars and vibrant structures. Take the time to delve into the city's historic heart, La Candelaria, where you'll find the bustling Plaza de Bolivar and Palace of Justice, Gold Museum and the Fernando Botero Museum. You can also enjoy a street art tour, peruse the numerous stalls at Paloquemao Market or enjoy a boat ride in the Simon Bolivar Park.
