Ceylon Tea Trails

Ceylon Tea Trails is certainly not your average property! Spread around the expansive, fairy-tale-esque Castlereagh Lake, the setting is utterly gorgeous - and that's before you've entered your new abode. In each bungalow you'll find a lounge in which to put your feet up and play games, as well a library to delve into and a veranda to sit out on and an alfresco swimming pool to chill out in. Each also has its own chef and you can expect to taste a sumptuous array of local delicacies such as hoppers, rotis and delectable fish curries.

There are a range of rooms across the bungalows from luxury bedrooms to suites and they are all just as good as the last (honestly). Some are a tad more modern (Norwood), whilst others flaunt their heritage style (Castlereagh). Summerville, however, is definitely the most private, perched high above the lake in an enviably picturesque spot. All rooms are, however, opulently furnished - think four poster beds and roll top baths - and have the services of a butler.

There's plenty to do in the hills, starting, of course, with exploring their fascinating heritage. A guided tour of the Dilmah Tea’s Dunkeld Tea Factory is a must (and it's included in your stay) and you'll learn about the journey of tea from field to pot and taste a variety of local blends. We also love the delightful Tea Planter's Picnic Lunch where you'll sample a host of delicacies out in the fields or under the shade of a tree in true Somerset Maugham style. There are also plenty of hikes for the active of you, as well as kayaking, tennis, mountain biking and white water rafting.
