The large, earthy restaurant is decorated with plush armchairs and serves a wide menu to suit all tastes, with anything from Continental breakfasts to light suppers of tramazzinis, salads and soups. The lounge is a spacious space to wait in between flights or activities, and offers uncapped Wi-Fi to help you pass the time. The pool area is decorated with chunky, bohemian chairs, large potted reeds and water features - a great place to cool off or grab a drink.
The hotel has 365 air-conditioned rooms designed in warm tones with framed nature shots and fun, city sketches on the bathroom walls. The style is neat and functional with queen-size or twin beds in South African prints, a desk with plenty of plugs, tea / coffee facilities, a drying rack and a flat-screen TV with a bevy of channels. A selection of rooms have a pool view and others come with a small but cosy sitting area. The en-suites have eco-friendly toiletries and large bathtub, but some only have a shower.
While you may not be in town for long, Joburg isn't short on jazzy galleries and amazing street art to peruse. There are also walking tours to learn of South Africa's history, and a selection of more off-beat activities like abseiling down disused silos, as well as a good array of museums, malls, ritzy bars and plenty of restaurants. Or simply put your feet up, close the blinds and enjoy a rest before your travels continue.
