About Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu

A gem of an island with incredible marine life and all the water sports you could ask for.
Named after its signature cluster of villas shaped like a coconut palm, the resort is surrounded by azure lagoons and reefs where manta rays glide through the water. Its high levels of luxury are matched by the resort's dedicated care for its island home. Built with eco-friendly materials, Coco Palm has coral replanting programs and the resort works with partners to protect green sea turtles. As a nesting site for these endangered locals, you might be lucky enough to see a hatching in progress! Picture days filled with cocktails on the sand, cruises to spot dolphins in the surf and seashell massages, to name a few. Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu is located just 30 minutes from Male International Airport by seaplane.

Property details

The property

With thatched roofs and names plucked from nature, the resort has two restaurants including the Cowrie, which serves menus from across Asia as well as the catch of the day, and the seaside Cornus restaurant. The Beach Bar is the place for sundowners on the sand and the chic Conch Bar serves cocktails with live music drifting through the air. The spa offers a range of treatments from Indonesian to Ayurvedic including the glorious Spice Bath. You can also enjoy a dip in the plunge pool or join a yoga session at the pavilion.

The rooms

Beachy ease fills each villa, decorated with four-poster beds, hand-carved furnishings and antiques from nearby islands, and simple, roll-down blinds. Set on stilts over the water, Lagoon Villas have a freshwater plunge pool and jacuzzi bath while Deluxe Villas come with a sunken bath in the garden and private splash pool just steps from the beachfront. Other amenities include a wardrobe and minibar - plus, enjoy a custom grilled dinner in your villa.

Activities

Follow in the flippers of a marine biologist as they share the reefs with you, snorkelling past parrotfish and diving amongst sharks, Hawksbill turtles and Eagle Rays (of Finding Nemo fame). There are a number of other ways to enjoy the water including jet skiing, wake boarding and parasailing along the coast. Share afternoon tea with a local family or visit the nearby Thulhaadhoo Island where delicacies and crafts are on full display. Join the island's seagoing crew as they catch fish for dinner or pull up a bean bag for movie nights on the sand.

Something to think about

Although some villas have their own pool, there is no main swimming pool at the resort - but the turquoise sea more than makes up for it!
