The wellness and fitness facilities are extensive and include eight spa treatment rooms, pilates and yoga studios, and a fully-equipped gym. The hotel's main hub is the stylish beach club (be sure to arrive early for a beachfront table) where you can enjoy fresh 'clean cuisine' breakfasts and dinners of fire-grilled seafood accompanied by barrel-aged cocktails and deejayed music. For an added dash of healthy dining, visit the Glow Juice Bar. The Como Uma also has a 115-metre-long lagoon pool and smaller pool at the beach club.
Set in their own building, the hotel has a collection of suites, residences and three-bedroom penthouses (they come with a rooftop pool!). The style is light, streamlined and understated with beds draped in 100% cotton linens and bathrooms that are more urban than beachy. The higher up the ladder you go, the better the views become and some rooms have their own kitchenette. Certain residences have direct access to the lagoon pool – you can swim to and from your room – and others have private 10-metre pools.
The beach will certainly take centre stage and it's the perfect spot for scenic walks, sunbathing and surf lessons. However, if you fancy exploring a little, there are horseback rides along the beach and through the rice paddies, e-bike trips ride in the countryside, and visits to the sea temples of Tanah Lot. You can also make a day trip to Ubud to visit its famous art market or take part in a water purification ceremony at the historic Tirta Empul Temple. Back at the hotel, there are fabulous wellness treatments at the spa and aerial yoga classes (if you dare!).
