Ekaa Villa was designed by award-winning architect Ipsita Mondal who was given the brief of creating interiors that reflected Agra's varied social structure. On her many visits, Ipsita was inspired by the sounds, foods, feel and people of Agra and worked to incorporate all the senses and emotions into Ekaa itself. Facilities-wise, there's an indoor dining room next to the kitchen and a lovely outdoor patio with tables for eating out when the weather plays ball.
This petite hotel has just 13 rooms (more opportunity for excellent service we say!), each with its own individual theme, and guests will spot elements of the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and other details from the town itself. The rooms are modern with either Grand, King or double beds, and the bathrooms are modern and impeccably clean.
Ekaa Villa is ALL about the activities and this special spot works hard to showcase the city it's based in. Most visitors will of course want to see the Taj Mahal, and Ekaa is more than willing to oblige, but there's so much more too. Experiences include wonderful walks through the streets, sampling local delicacies (think fresh fried samosas, bedai-jalebi, sweet treats and hot saffron milk), dolphin-spotting river cruises, trips to Petha factories to see how the famous sweet treat is made, and tours around all manner of ancient sites.
A must-visit for stories of heartbreak, feuds and soaking in the shimmering domes of the Taj Mahal.
