With more than a touch of colonial splendour, the main lounge and dining areas are elegant, charming and totally comfortable. With an upstairs and downstairs terrace, indoor lounge complete with an army of squashy armchairs and several pergola-ed courtyards, there are plenty of nooks and crannies to escape to. Both the Fez bar and restaurant are open sided and airy and dinner under the stars is always a treat.
The 20 guest rooms are located a few steps away from the main hotel. Mod-cons are present and correct and every room has air-con, internet access and satellite television. On the ground floor, Garden Rooms have outside sitting areas overlook the pretty grounds whilst Suites have an added indoor lounge, and in the upper rooms, big French-doors open out over the views. In all, the bathrooms are a dream with either tropical rain showers or long, cast-iron bathtubs – just what is called for after a few days adventuring!
For most guests, the Emin Pasha is a quick stopover pre- or post-safari and an afternoon relaxing in the garden or by the pool (and maybe even a massage) is just the ticket. If you’re in the area for a few days, the hotel staff are very helpful and always willing to organise taxis, dinner reservations and anything else you might need. For a taste of the city, meander around the centre with your very own walking guide or get away fro the hustle and bustle with a day trip to Lake Victoria.
A bold and dynamic capital city with a good dose of history to satisfy culture vultures.
