As the name suggests, Valley Lodge offers rustic farm style accommodation. Set amidst immaculate grounds and a functional farm setting complete with coffee plantations, it exudes a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a fairly new lodge that is well appointed and simply decorated with a spicy twist of contemporary African vibrance. Property details

The property

The lounge and dining area is strategically placed in the centre of camp, providing a space for meeting and mingling. The dining area is comfortably laid out with private tables, high ceilings and simple hanging chandeliers. The lounge consists of simple but comfortable furniture arranged to welcome either privacy or guest interaction, depending on your mood. For daytime relaxation there is a lavish swimming pool surrounded by recliners, and in the evenings a communal campfire and a beverage to welcome in the night skies.

The rooms

The rooms have the same simple but quirky style as the rest of the lodge. With twenty-six half-villa-style suites and two family suites, there’s plenty of room to go around. All are en-suite with built in showers and dreamy views of the fertile farmland and the blue-tinged mountains beyond. Guests can choose from double or twin beds, which are all equipped with mosquito nets to keep your sleep as peaceful as the surroundings.

Activities

A good old game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater is always a great idea. You can even do a full day trip and have a private lunch in the crater itself. Guided walks in the Ngorongoro Conservation area are a great way to soak up the subtleties, while a Maasai cultural walk will introduce you to the local culture, its customs, traditional plant uses and age-old stories. The lodge offers interesting guided farm tours where you can learn how the farm runs, meet the farm animals and explore the vegetable garden.

The farm is enormous and with no wild animals, very safe to wander around in by yourself - perfect for those who want to keep up their exercise routine or just stretch their legs after all that food.
