About Four Rosmead

A quiet, designer den in Cape Town’s live-like-a-local suburb of Oranjezicht.
On a shady tree-lined street in quiet Oranjezecht, under the watchful eye of Table Mountain, sits Four Rosmead. Built in 1903, the listed building is an architectural delight and has been lovingly restored to retain many of the original elements along with a hefty dose contemporary style; think original wood floors, rustic fireplaces and carefully-placed quirky African artwork, handpicked by the owner himself. With a central but peaceful location, impeccable service and pretty gardens to relax in, this stylish bolthole ticks all the right boxes for a perfect stay in the Mother City.

Property details

The property

From the manicured gardens, fragrant herb patches and the soothing fishpond outside to the airy sun-filled lounge and spectacular steel and wood balcony wrapped around the entire property, Four Rosmead is a little urban sanctuary that quietly soothes the senses. Complete the zen experience and take a break from pounding the pavements with a refreshing dip in the salt-water pool or a soul-stretching massage at the in-house spa.

The rooms

With air-con, under-floor heating, TVs & DVD players, Wifi, iPod docks, minibars and even beach baskets complete with Frisbees, we challenge you to find anything missing from the superbly comfortable and stylish rooms! Of the 8 rooms, 6 are in the main house, 1 is in a garden annexe and the enormous Bellegables Suite is hidden at the end of the garden. Luckily all have wonderful views, either of the mountain or the city twinkling below.

Activities

Venture out of the city to the glorious Cape Point, where penguins toddle on the beach and mighty waves crash into the peninsula. Or stay closer to home and ask the hotel to order you a picnic from local deli Liquorice & Lime and retreat to Kirstenbosch, or one of the shimmering beaches, for a gourmet afternoon in the sun. If you’re feeling sporty, try a walk up Lion’s Head at sunset or don your whites and visit the tennis court next door.
