Property details

The property

The interiors have a classic feel with a summery twist, with gilded ceilings and fine statues combining with vast windows and bright, easygoing settings. You'll have your choice of 10 wining and dining venues, ranging from full-house brunches to Levant-style menus at the glossy Byblos restaurant, as well as several plush lounges to enjoy the sunset over a cocktail. The two-storey spa is bathed in candlelight; enjoy royal treatments a la Cleopatra, including milk and honey baths, chocolate wraps and more.

The rooms

The hotel has a selection of rooms and suites, the majority of which are in the main building, as well as a sprinkling of seafront villas. The handiwork of French interior designer, Pierre-Yves Rochon, the rooms are coloured in robins egg-blue and gold, with pretty furnishings and King-sized beds. Some have more of an extravagant, swanky feel while others are tropical with large paintings of ocean scenes. Reached via an underground tunnel, the seafront villas enjoy a their own kitchen and dining area, private pool, and private beach access.

Activities

Explore this sunny seaside city on strolls along the Corniche, where you'll take in the stunning Art Nouveau buildings alongside ancient mosques. Delve into Alexandria's incredible history at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, where you'll find the Manuscript Museum and remnants from its iconic ancestor. Take a walk through the peaceful Montazah Gardens, find buried treasures at the souk, and visit Fort Qaitbey, where the great Pharos Lighthouse once stood. If you're up for it, dive into the waters off the coast where you'll glide over submerged sphinxes and statues.
