Property details

The property

Every space at the Franschhoek Boutique Hotel is exquisitely done, from the manicured courtyard to the cosy lounge complete with a wood-burning fireplace. Breakfast is served in the pretty dining room, with everything from eggs, waffles, 'French-hoek toast' or a full English breakfast on offer. The hotel also has a full-service bar where you can grab a sundowner or night cap on the way to your room.

The rooms

All 12 rooms boast enormous and superbly comfortable beds, aircon and bathrooms with a double-volume showers and free-standing tubs. All are unique in their design, from the sleek and understated tones of the protea-pink Fynbos room, to the vibrant brass and turquoise tones of the Mineral room. Most, but not all, of the rooms enjoy serene views of the Franschhoek mountains and some also have a fireplace for chilly nights.

Activities

Of course, at the top of the list are wine tastings and vineyard tours, for which Franschhoek is famous. The Wine Tram is just around the corner, or book a private tour for a more personalised taste of the area's top wineries. The charming Franschhoek village is also filled with art galleries and lovely shops to peruse, as well as the fascinating Motor Museum on the L'Ormarins estate.
