The main areas consist of a spacious open-air restaurant and bar area, set around the swimming pool with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Meals can be enjoyed away from the restaurant too. The Dhow FumBar is fashioned from an old dhow boat while the spa is located under a magnificent baobab tree. Other places around the lodge where one can enjoy the spectacular views and sunsets, include viewing platforms and hammocks swaying from palm trees.
There are 26 whitewashed Zanzibari style bungalows with traditional thatched roofs. They are generously spread through the tropical gardens and the beach front and feature king size beds, ceiling fans, and en-suite bathrooms. Brightly coloured bed covers and scatter cushions add splashes of colour. Large wooden doors open onto an outside terrace, with views of the lush tropical gardens and the ocean. The Baobab Suites have stunning outside bathrooms with a bathtub, shower, toilet and basin, framed by pretty flowers.
Fumba has its own PADI dive and water sports centre which offers a range of certifications and experiences for divers at every skill level. Fishing, diving and snorkelling excursions, and dhow trips to the nearby uninhabited islands where one can enjoy a picnic, can be arranged. The spa offers a range of massage and beauty treatments made from the exotic spices and flowers of the island. One can relax in the jacuzzi or on the hammocks around the lodge.
