



High exposed beam ceilings and thatched roofing allow in air and light into this cosy little home. Downstairs is a small dining and lounging area with washed concrete flooring to keep the building cool in the warmer summer and decorated with pretty shades of light pastel. A baraza, or traditional seating , is found under a small shaded rooftop terrace adds an extra space. Well equipped with everything you might need for self catering, even it's own fresh water supply.
Bedrooms are light and bright, with white washed coral walls and concrete flooring shaded a light terracotta to keep everything nice and cool. Beautiful Swahili wooden shutters in the master bedroom open up to views of the leafy garden. There is an additional double bedroom and one twin bedroom perfect for the kids, on the same floor. Each room has wooden poster beds with mosquito coverings and crisp , clean linen making for a very comfortable stay.
Lamu town is a short ferry ride away, where you can spend days exploring the lanes and markets of this unique part of the Kenyan coastline. Shela is a smaller little village away from the hustle, where you can still hire fishing boats and dhow tours with the assistance of the house staff. Scuba diving is available between November and March from Lamu.
