This exclusive lodge is tucked away within the Timbavati Private Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger Park, and with just five luxury suites, makes a classy choice for families or small groups of friends. It holds a commanding position on a rocky ridge, with stunning views over the surrounding wilderness. This was once a family home, and personal touches are evident in the quirky décor and African artwork throughout. In this scenically beautiful game-rich area you’ll be treated to some exciting viewing, and the chance to explore on foot with highly trained guides and trackers is to be recommended.

The rock and thatch guest area captures the feel of the bush perfectly, with contemporary touches and unusual vintage pieces reflecting the owner’s love of Africa. Wide decks curve around the infinity pool, with sweeping views of the bushveld. There's a well stocked curio shop, plus a snug library with an open fire during chilly winter spells. Meals are served on the main deck, with evening dinners in the boma, or out in the bush for something extra special.
Five spacious thatch and stone suites, each with its own private deck and plunge pool, are lavishly decorated and feature ball-and-claw Victorian baths, copper basins, indoor and outdoor showers, with vintage furnishings throughout. This is a decidedly unique bush retreat with no shortage of stylish comforts. Artworks created by the owners, and individual touches inspired by their love of Africa add a personal stamp to this exclusive lodge which retains its original homestead feel.
Early morning and late afternoon game drives offer the chance to view a wide variety of game, and predators in particular. Diverse and scenically beautiful terrain supports a thriving population of wildlife, and bird watching is excellent. We recommend guided bush walks with experienced guides and trackers - a great opportunity to stretch your legs and discover otherwise hidden facets of the bushveld at your own pace. Adventurous overnight walking safaris and bush sleep-outs may also be arranged.
The camp started life as the Geiger family's private home, and that warmth hasn't gone anywhere. With just a handful of rooms and a dedicated chef and butler, it feels less like a lodge and more like staying with exceptionally well-connected friends...
Book a night in the Giraffe's Nest - a luxury treehouse perched above Xanatsi Dam with a retractable canvas roof, proper beds, and views you won't forget. Meals are included, and come morning your guide collects you for the dawn drive.
Children under 16 are only permitted when the camp is booked on an exclusive-use basis, so it's might not be one for families travelling with younger kids.

A collection of private reserves with exceptional wildlife viewing and a delicious selection of lodges.
