Quite literally face to face with Mount Fuji, one of Japan’s most renowned icons, the Gora Kadan is a beautiful blend of Japanese tradition and glittering modernity. The 39 suites and three villas are flawless in every way and deliver a real sense of Japanese culture. At the door is a traditional shoe-removing stone, symbolising the transition from the outside to your own private sanctuary. And what a sanctuary it is! Interiors blend tatami mats, bamboo and acres of sparkling granite and thoughtful details like calligraphy sets really set the tone. All have wooden or stone baths (most with views of the mountain), some alfresco and some indoors.
