The original, centuries-old manor house presides over the estate, with a glamorous restaurant, a more informal bistro, and a chic outdoor dining terrace overlooking the lawns and distant mountains. For a more intimate experience, there is also the Private Dining Room - a romantic candlelit retreat for couples or small groups celebrating special occasions. Two swimming pools offer a welcome respite from the summer heat, and during winter, guests can relax next to a roaring fire in the lounge.
There are 30 beautifully appointed suites scattered throughout the gardens, ranging in style from studio suites in the restored coach house, to vast duplex suites with a downstairs lounge, and thatched terrace suites with private verandas. All have a distinct Cape Malay/Dutch feel, with modern comforts like satellite television, underfloor heating, air-conditioning, and WiFi. The largest is the opulent Garden Suite, hidden in a private garden setting with an enormous bathroom and Jacuzzi, its own sun terrace, and enclosed patio.
Guests have free rein to explore the enchanting gardens, orchards and vineyards, and find a secluded spot to relax with a book and a glass of estate wine. On-site facilities include two swimming pools and a wellness centre. Paarl is a delightful town with wonderful historic buildings and quaint shops along tree-lined avenues to explore. If you’re feeling energetic, there are a number of challenging hiking and mountain bike trails criss-crossing the mountain slopes, and excellent golf courses nearby.
Embark on the Paarl Wine Route for rustic wine farms, spicy shiraz and even a taste of craft beer.
