About Hotel B

Stylish luxury amidst Lima’s bohemian, art gallery-laden scene.
Located in the heart of Lima’s trendiest neighborhood, Hotel B is the only Relais & Chateaux in the capital. Back in the 1920s, this astonishing Belle Époque mansion was the seaside retreat of a wealthy Limeño family. Designed by renowned French architect Claude Sahut, features included an ornate exterior, imported marble, open balconies and the distinctive 'teatina' skylights. After 20 years of abandonment, it was restored by Fine Arts Academy sculptors and an Italian cabinetmaker, who managed to recover its former glory, while also preserving the architectural heritage. The now boutique hotel is vibrant and unique and has its own mouth-watering art collection of over 300 original pieces.

Property details

The property

Picture a columned, stately white façade, giving way to high ceilings, marble and exotic woods, all lit by charming skylights. Well, that's Hotel B in a nutshell! The style is a perfect marriage of history and boldness, drawing inspiration from Barranco’s bohemian atmosphere, and there's an impressive collection of works by contemporary Peruvian artists to peruse. Breakfast is served in the library, while lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the dining room, the patio or the award-winning bar - also home to a selection of locally-inspired drinks served in custom-made glasses.

The rooms

Spread over four floors, the 17 rooms feature wooden floors, antique furniture and modern art. Beds are dressed in 100% Pima cotton sheets and the walk-in bathrooms, tiled with marble fixtures, offer organic toiletries, rain showers and the fluffiest bathrobes. The larger, more luxurious Atelier suites have private terraces or foyers overlooking the boulevard and some offer standalone bathtubs too. The Aposento and Alcoba suites are smaller but just as comfortable, with seating areas, flat-screen TVs, and a well-stocked minibar.

Activities

Barranco is the hippest, liveliest neighborhood in Lima. And the best way to explore it? By foot. Lace up those shoes and discover imposing old mansions, countless art boutiques, cafés and restaurants, and visit Barranco landmarks like the main square, the hermitage church or the Bridge of Sighs over the picturesque Bajada de Baños. And don’t miss out on the many renowned art galleries and museums just blocks away from the hotel. Once you’re done, opt for one of the enriching experiences offered by Hotel B.

There's no spa, pool or open gardens at the mansion and, especially if travelling with little ones, you may want to consider planning activities outside the hotel.
