About Hotel del Parque

A refined 19-century mansion in the middle of Guayaquil's most beautiful botanical gardens
Sitting within the verdant gardens of the Parque Historico, Hotel del Parque is as handsome and elegant as they come. Once located in the centre of the city, the estate was moved brick by brick from its original home to the beautiful park, and has held onto its historic past while stepping with a flourish into the 21st century. Designed by Julio Vinueza, the interiors are uber-chic with plush, purple rugs, vivid artworks and swanky rooms. The location however is magnificent and you'll wake to the call of parrots in the gardens and the soft babble of the Daule River, whilst the gently meandering nature trails are mere steps away. A true oasis in the heart of the city.

Around sunset, head to La Pergola for cocktails, and for dinner, try Casa Julian, one of Guayaquil's finest eateries that serves a mean menu of Ecuadorian cuisine the steamed shrimp buns with curry are exquisite. In the bell tower of the restored Gothic chapel, you'll find a massage room with idyllic garden views.

The rooms

Hotel del Parque has a collection of 44 rooms, each adorned with tasteful and very stylish details. Decorated in shades of steel-grey with bright splashes of yellow, the walls are dotted with delicate floral sketches and all furnishings were made in Ecuador. The Park Suite is the grandest and most spacious with its own dining area and lounge, and a deep, freestanding bathtub in the en-suite. The extra-tall windows let in plenty of natural light and a view of the pretty gardens below.
