About Huvafen Fushi

A miniscule isle where the lure of the Maldives is as clear as the water you sail on.
A part of the North Malé Atoll's strand of islands, coral ramparts curl around the tiny shores of Huvafen Fushi, which blend into pure Indian Ocean. The lagoon is a hive of watersports; 'play' dolphin as you propel under the water on a sea bob and parasail above a scene of never-ending blue. And would you believe that under the water, is the Maldives' first submerged wine cellar! There are myriad options for destination dining including a private outpost on the bay - and even a photography crew to capture every moment. Believe us, you'll wish the days were as endless as the view. Huvafen Fushi Maldives is just located 30 minutes from Male International Airport by speedboat.

Property details

The property

The large saltwater pool sits right on the beach flanked by the Celsius restaurant, where you can dine at the water's edge with umbrellas dangling overhead, and the Umbar lounge where you can enjoy a drink (and the view) from oversized cushions. Tucked away in a grove of palms, Forno has themed dinner nights and serves wood-fired pizzas, the rustic Raw Cafe has an organic menu and Feeling Koi offers Japanese favourites in a casual setting. At the underwater spa you can watch manta rays glide by as you enjoy a coconut oil massage.

The rooms

The bungalows at Huvafen Fushi come in different forms, some set on stilts over the lagoon and others in a pocket of trees next to the beach. The design is kept rather simple with walls of glass, roll-down blinds and pearly-white furnishings. Beach bungalows have an open-air bathroom and plunge pool in a walled garden - some even come with a second pool overlooking the sea. The two-bedroom ocean pavilion comes with a library, jacuzzi and dining deck. The Cube is the grandest of the villas and has multiple living areas, a kitchen, sauna and large pool.

Activities

The ocean constantly calls at Huvafen Fushi, simply pick your mode of exploration. Journey to nearby diving sites where you could see any number of creatures and join the marine biologist as they share the secrets of the deep. Sail the waves on the Silver Surf yacht, where you can travel to local islands for a picnic and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins. Enjoy the lagoon on a windsurfer or kayak, and for the adventurous, a night snorkel is pretty memorable.

Spend a few hours or stay the night on the dhoni boat just off shore, which has a lovely king bed, lounge and scenic deck. It can be booked with any room!
Something to think about

Something to think about

At certain times of the year, the waves tend to wash quite high up the beach but it doesn't put a dampener on swimming!
