Located a one-hour boat ride from Puerto Maldonado, the lodge is surrounded by the lushest of grounds and built in typical Ese’Eja style with wooden buildings, pathways and furniture, and traditional palm-thatched roofs. The main building is an open and inviting space, home to the dining area, bar and a lounge for mingling or chilling - or both. Breakfast is a generous buffet while lunch and dinner offer traditional options with a focus on local ingredients. A spa overlooking the river offers a perfect end to a day of exploration.
The wooden cabins follow the same pattern of Ese’Eja architecture with high thatched ceilings and fantastic views of the surroundings, separated only by nets to keep out “visitors”. Comfy beds come with canopied mosquito nets whilst bathrooms have a separate shower and toilet and eco-friendly toiletries. River-facing cabins offer a tad more privacy, but all cabins include a screened lounge with hammocks beckoning for a snooze accompanied by the sounds of the jungle. If you're feeling indulgent, book a suite with a plunge pool for the ultimate end of the day treat.
Your stay at the lodge includes an array of á la carte explorations with Inkaterra’s amazingly knowledgeable and friendly guides. From easier hikes around the lodge’s eight-kilometre trail system to nocturnal walks, twilight river explorations, canopy bridges and oxbow lake cruises, you're guaranteed to become fully acquainted with almost all aspects of the jungle. Learn all about the ecosystem, become an expert at spotting monkeys, caiman and giant river otters, and keep your binos peeled for unique birds, frogs and reptiles - and perhaps even giant anaconda.
