Your first impression will be of space and bright colours – the designers have combined vivid shades to delineate the areas, from the tropical-blue, open-plan kitchen/bar area to the accent walls washed with red and lime green. And those brights really work well against the structures' natural stone and thatch. The bar is well stocked, the dining and lounge areas are welcoming. Outside are a boma with a firepit, a swimming pool, and a well-visited waterhole.
Jaci's Sabi House accommodates a maximum of six (minimum of four) guests, so it's perfect for close family and friends. Guests are divided between the master bedroom in the main house (highlighted in red, with spectacular bush views and a dreamy bathroom) and the guest cottage. The latter has two twin-bedded rooms, each with its own en-suite shower, toilet and handbasin. The furnishings and finishes throughout are out of the top drawer – no expense has been spared.
See Sabi Sand's extraordinary wildlife on the two (optional) game drives per day. With a capable on-site field guide and your private driver at the helm, you'll be in safe hands as they try to locate the species you're most keen to see. (Ask about the Birmingham Boys, the coalition of five male lions who range the reserve.) Back at the house, your private chef will prepare delicious dishes for all. And spend some downtime watching creatures at the waterhole.
A safari that surpasses every expectation awaits in this vast wilderness just west of the Kruger National Park.
