The Tokyu Hotel offers two fantastic dining options. Enjoy the casual setting and fine French cuisine at the Marais d'Or, which serves a hearty buffet breakfast, a trio of set lunch menus, and a la carte dinner with delicious grilled and seafood dishes. The high-end Kincharyo has a selection of traditional Japanese cuisine including favourites like the vegetable tempura and deep-fried seafood. There is also a lovely bar with a wide selection of sakes, whiskies and cocktails.
The hotel has a total of 235 rooms divided between standard and luxury floors. Set up in a double or twin bed configuration, the rooms are dressed in white linens with splashes of colourful textiles and feature walls, sometimes embossed with detailed art. Each room has a desk and sitting area, TV, minibar and Japanese tea set. The bathrooms are pristine (and white!) with a combined shower and tub. The biggest difference is in size, and the most spacious are the top-floor suites.
Perhaps the city's most famous icon, the Kenrokuen Garden is just a short walk away, where you'll stroll amongst ancient trees and bubbling fountains. Just next door, take in the view of the city's famous castle, then admire the works at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, visit the Noh Museum, which celebrates this age-old theatre art form, or learn all about the traditional Yuzen silk painting technique. Then, depending on your persuasion, grab a glass of sake or enjoy a cuppa at one of the many tea houses.
Unearth the rich heritage of beautiful Kanazawa, where ancient Japanese traditions thrive.
