The treehouse platform has an open-air deck in front with a large cushioned love-seat sofa, perfect for lounging with a glass of bubby at sunset, or a steaming cuppa at first light. The beauty of this space is there's not much to it – besides some soft seating there is a small dining table for two (where the gourmet picnic is served in the evening). Lanterns scatter the deck at night, emitting enough glow for guests to make their way through the romance of the star-studded night.
Accessed from a wooden boardwalk straddling an enormous granite boulder and the treehouse platform, this magnificent perch feels totally immersed, while being only slightly shielded from the elements of the bush. Glass doors enclose the bed and posterior bathroom on all sides - a bit of protection without an iota of obstruction. In the bathroom, you'll find a shower and double basin, fluffy bathrobes and aromatic soaps. With plush bedding, feather pillows and a king-sized mattress, no luxury is spared but those that are superfluous.
Guides deliver guests to their elevated bush suite by early evening, settling them in with plenty of time to savour the colourful hues of sunset above the tree-line. Here guests remain until the following morning, enjoying a carefully curated gourmet picnic and an evening of stargazing. Come sun up, it will be time for another morning game drive, or a lazy lie-in if guests prefer. Seclusion is the point here, but comfort and peace of mind is key as well – to this end, guests are given a radio to access their guide any time of day or night, should there be a need.
In the very heart of the Kruger National Park, you’ll find wildlife galore and guides who know the bush like their own backyard.
