Relaxation is in the air at Komandoo beginning at the Duniye Spa where you can enjoy an array of treatments from Thai to Balinese, including a Maldivian serenity ritual. In true barefoot, island style, the Aqua restaurant is set on stilts over the water, serving surf and turf with a noteworthy selection of wines. Next to the infinity pool (with never-ending views to match), the slick Kandu Bar has evenings of live performances including Maldivian Boduberu music. You can also enjoy sundowners at the Thunder Bar or a barbecue on the beach.
Set along a crescent boardwalk with water lapping at their base, you'll find the ocean villas, which have furnished decks that lead down into the sea and an en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Back on the island, there are a selection of beach villas a few steps from the water, some of which have an open-air bathroom in a private garden complete with shrubs and a thatched day bed. Each villa has a large canopy bed as well as a TV, Espresso machine, minibar and wardrobe.
The Lhaviyani Atoll is home to one of the largest populations of Hawksbill and green sea turtles, which you can spot on diving expeditions to the numerous reefs, caves and channels nearby. Keep your eyes peeled for around 26 species of sharks as well! Hop aboard the Britt or Muna (Komandoo's yachts) for a sail across the sea where you can sunbathe and snorkel to your heart's content - you might even get a manta ray joining you for a swim. Take to the water with activities like kayaking, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding!
